Cranberry and Pear Sauté

A super simple autumn recipe, perfect for holiday entertaining! The complementing flavors and colors will cause smiles galore!


Cranberry and Pear Sauté


3 pears, sliced

1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp of vanilla extract, optional

dash of cinnamon

dash of nutmeg


On medium heat, melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and vanilla and stir until mixed in. Add pears and cook for 4 minutes. Add cranberries and spices. Simmer for another few minutes and then enjoy as a decadent autumn time topping! Add it to yogurt, ice cream, crepes or pancakes — whatever you like! 

I am going to try out a similar recipe but with a more savory kick — maybe a pear cranberry stuffing for a holiday meal?
